Bibliography

When you do a project, you need to acknowledge where you got your information from. Books, magazines, encyclopedias, CD-ROMS, experts and the Internet are just some examples of resources. The list of these resources is known as a bibliography.

Reasons you need to write up a bibliography are:

  • to give credit to the people who did the work (wrote the book or information) that you used
  • to be honest about the fact that other people's work helped you do your work
  • to let people know where to go for more information if they want to learn more

The following is a list of resources and how you are expected to write them up in grade 4 and 5. Don't worry if your older brother or sister tells you there is another way. They are right, but for junior students this is the format you should use.
