RUM BALLS or RUMKUGELN

12 1/2 dkg. butter, unsalted, softened
25 dkg icing sugar
2 pkgs Dr. Oetker vanilla sugar
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate melted
maraschino cherries - whole - drained - we use red
2 tsp cacao (unsweetened)
15 dkg. oatmeal, fine
12 1/2 dkg walnuts, ground
rum to taste - we use Stroh Rum 80% from Austria made from sugar beets- use the strongest rum you can get your hands on

Mix dry ingredients. Add melted chocolate & butter. Mix into dough.

Take maraschino cherry, surround with dough & roll into a ball. Roll in pure chocolate streusel (DeRuijter sprinkles or hail).
Or if desired, roll in fine shredded sweetened coconut.
