PAPRIKAS BEEF STEW – from Nyusza
1 Kg. Beef shank, cut into bite size pieces
60 g. lard or margarine
200 g. diced onions
1/2 tomato (optional)
1/2 hot banana pepper (optional)
1 tblsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. salt
Saute onions in lard; add beef; brown on all sides and simmer on low, covered,
till tender (+/- 1/2 hr.).
Near the end, (last 5 min.) add banana pepper. Add paprika, tomato and salt 2
minutes before serving.
*NOTE* - Serve with Savoy Cabbage or Tarhonya, or Falafel, or Rice.
