SALT DOUGH for Crafts

Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose white flour
1 cup fine table salt
1 cup cold watter

Mix the flour with the salt in a large bowl.
Slowly add water & mix.
Turn out on floured pastry board & knead.
Knead until smooth & elastic - approximately 10 minutes.
If too crumbly, add a bit of water till workable.

Place dough in a plastic bag & rest for 1 hour.

Food colouring can be added to water for more uniform mixing, or kneaded in later if small batches of different coloursw wanted.
If colour added to dough, the colour will look somewhat speckled & will be hard to knead in although the look of the finished product is pretty even.

Dough can be stored for up to a week in an airtight plastic container in the fridge. Knead the dough before using to make more elastic & pliable.

Christmas Ornaments or Fridge Magnets
Roll out to about 1/2 inch. Do not roll dough out too thin - they will warp.
Place on cookie sheet & bake in the oven @ 225° for about 2 hours or until dry. It depends on the thickness of the ornament.
