Many of us have tools and supplies we no longer need.
We have too many items that we have made and don't have an easy way to sell them
at a reasonable price. This could be because:
- we've upgraded to a higher quality of machine
- we bought too much for a project and need to get
rid of the surplus to make room for a new project
- we no longer do the activity that we bought the
tools & supplies for
- we've accumulated too many "things" and need more
space
- we made too many items because it was fun to do
and ran out of people to give them to as gifts and would like a bit of money
back to pay for the time & effort to make them
- we're down sizing and don't have room for that
hobby or those items in our new place
- we have inherited hobby items from family &
friends and we don't do that hobby
- we are helping older family and friends dispose of
a lifetime accumulation of hobby "stuff" that is just too good to throw out
or just give away
We ourselves are in that position and that is why we
have started The Hobby Exchange. Of course we know we can use
Kijiji and Craig's List. We have used these sites in the past and they are great
for the hobbyist because the listings are free. The service we provide is an
improvement on this, because for a one time only fee of $20, you can have a
single web page devoted to your items. The number of words you use (namely the
"length" of the page isn't limited and you can include up to 20 photographs of
your "stuff". We do this for hobbyist just like us who would like to find a
buyer and not be pressured by high advertising costs which make us nervous
because specialty items may take a while to find a new home.
Take a look at some of The Hobby Exchange pages we have
going (yes we know - most of the "stuff" is ours!;-) and decide if this kind of
service is what you are looking for. This is what you get for $20:
- you send us a Word document of any reasonable
length (20 pages or less) and we will convert it to a web page (linked to
our GMB Services web site) with its own URL
- up to 20 photographs can be included
- it is your choice how much personal information
you will include for contact purposes
- since this is for hobbyists, you may not direct
viewers to a commercial sit
- this page can stay up for up to a year
- there is no cost for removing the page
- if you wish to make changes, then you will need to
send us a new document and it will count as a new page and you will be
charged $20
